Makyam Vijay Kumar is a Postgraduate in Law with specialization in Intellectual Property Rights and Master of Science in Information Technology had practiced intellectual property laws for 15 years. He had initially enrolled with the Karnataka Bar in the year 2005 and got transferred to Telangana Bar. He had been Counsel-on-record in various IPR cases before different High Courts in the Country

He had been a Guest Faculty at NIMSME(National Institute of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise), Hyderabad and NIPER (National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Re-search), Hyderabad. Also a Resource Person for University College of Law, Osmania University, JNTU Hyderabad, JNTU Kakinada, Ministry of HRD, Ministry of MSME and various other universities for promotion of IPRs

He has attended JPO Training program (FY2017 JPO/IPR Training Course for Practitioners Specializing in Patents from 22 August - 7 September, 2017).

He is a Registered Patent and Trademark Agent for Indian Patent and Trademark office and has filed and prosecuted Patent and Trademark applications and oppositions before the Controller of Patents and Trademark Registrar in India. He has also coordinated filing of Patent and trademark applications in other countries including USA, EU, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, South Korea, South Africa, UAE and Japan.

He has published an Article titled "Unintentional Abandonment of Patent Applications – Law in India" in ENISHI No.19, August 2018 a news magazine published by Japanese Patent office.

He is instrumental in organizing various seminars, training sessions and Moot Court Competitions.
